e) Interpretation of statutes as a method of judicial law making
f) The concept of judicial process
g) The legislative intent
h) The concept of justice in the Western thought.

2. Explain the concept of justice in ancient India with special reference to modern Indian thought. (12)
3. ‘Judges must know their limits and must not try to run the government.’ Do you agree with this view- Does this statement stun judicial activism or restricts it to its proper place- Discuss in detail. (12)

4. What do you understand by the term “Judicial Process’- How can it serve as an instrument of social ordering- Explain it in the Indian context. (12)

5. Discuss the role of law in the development of society. To what extent law can reform the society- Give your answer with the suitable examples. (12)
6. Judicial activism certainly can not be judicial anarchism. What are the parameters of reasonable judicial activism- Elucidate. (12)

7. Discuss the role of precedent as a tool of judicial legislation. Point out the difference between Indian and British system in this regard. (12)
8. Write an essay on provisions and practice ensuring independence of judiciary in India. (12)
