1. Define friction. Discuss the entities of friction, notching and binding of archwires in contemporary orthodontic tooth movement with the preadjusted/edgewise appliance. Add a note on its clinical significance.
2. Discuss the various qualitative and quantitative approaches to assess the effectiveness of orthodontic treatment. Comment on the utility of the IOTN and PAR indices in this regard.
3. Discuss the application of computer technology in orthodontic practice management and in achieving a paperless office. Comment on its contribution to overall efficiency and practice economics.
4. Discuss the principles of Randomised clinical trials and its relevance to evidence based orthodontics. Add a note on the principles and utility of meta-analysis in orthodontic research with illustrative examples.

3. Outline the treatment protocol for a child with severe unilateral cleft of the lip and palate from birth to adulthood. Discuss the role of secondary alveolar bone grafts and its timing in the management of the problem.
4. What are the constituents and components of facial beauty and its perception? Discuss the current concepts of a balanced face. Add a note on the speculated mathematical basis of beauty.

1. Discuss role of 3D Cone Beam Computerised Tomography (CBCT) in orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning and write a note about merits and demerits.
2. Newer Orthodontic arch wires. Add a note on bioforce wires.
3. Recent advances of Clinical photography in orthodontics.
4. Enumerate the recent advances in the biology of tooth movement. Write a note on signalling molecules and neuro transmitters in orthodontic tooth movement.
