2. Draft a section for 230mm thick wall from concrete foundation to slab level showing all DPC details etc. (10)
3. Make section and elevation for 400mm thick stone wall in rubble masonry. (10)
4. Draft plan and elevation for 230mm thick wall in English in English bond at T-junction. (10)
5. Discuss all the 4 clones of brick with their usage. (10)
6. Compare between stone masonry and brick masonry with respect to their usage, construction techniques employed etc. (10)
7. Differentiate between the following : (5×2=10)
a) Load bearing and Non-load bearing structures.
b) Plinth band and Lintel band

a) Line Mortar and Cement Mortar.
b) English Bond and Flemish Bond.
c) Asphalt DPC and Synthetic DPC.

1. Draw the vertical section (1: 20 scale) through a 230 mm thick load bearing wall of a single storied building from the floor level to the parapet having a window of height 1.2m at a suitable position. (20) OR
Draw the section (1:20 scale) through a 230 mm thick load bearing wall of a single storied building from the window sill to the foundation, showing the floor details. (20)
2. Write a short essay on the various types of clay products used in construction industry. (10)
3. Write in brief how cement is manufactured. Narrate the various properties of cement which have made it such a popular building material. (10)
4. What is bonding of bricks? Bring out the differences between the two types of brick bonding commonly used. Support your answer with sketches. (10)
5. a) What is DPC? Where and why it is used in a building? What is the composition of DPC? (5)
b) Write down the advantages of providing DPC. Also write the precautions which are required during laying of DPC. (5)
