PART-I Language – I : ENGLISH
Read the given passage and answer the questions that follow (Q. No. 01-08):
Vivek was a pot maker. He had a smiling face, soothing voice and skilled hands. He loved his village and the villagers loved him. He loved to work and never got tired. He knew his village in all its glory and knew everything that belonged to the village. Not only did he know the trees of the village but also the birds that would come to the trees.

He believed that the plants, trees and birds knew him. One day he was busy finishing a pot when a woodpecker flew into his workshop and perched on a pot. He did not want to shoot the bird. As it was still wet, its feet got stuck. It tried to adjust and moved round on the neck of the pot.

As it wriggled around, it made a design on the top of the pot and then it flew away. A customer came by. He was impressed by the new design and asked him to make ten such pots for him. Another person came and asked him to make a few more pots. This made him happy and his business improved by leaps and bounds. He was happy that his friend had visited him.

If the candidate uses the O.M.R./QP booklet which doesn’t belong to him/her, such O.M.R. sheets are not considered for evaluation.

1. The sealed Question Booklet contains 150 questions and O.M.R. Answer Sheets. Verify whether the given Question Booklet is of the same PAPER and MEDIUM as the candidate opted in the application.
2. The Questions are printed in Kannada and English Medium. But in any case of any discrepancies/doubt the question in English Medium is considered as valid.
3. The Question Paper contains five parts I, II, III, IV and V consisting of 150 Objective Type Questions, EACH QUESTION CARRYING ONE MARK.

4. Part-I contains 30 Questions for the Language – I and Part – II contains 30 Questions for the Language-II. In this Question Booklet Questions pertaining to all Languages have been given. The Languages being answered must tally with the Languages opted by the candidate in online application.

5. Candidates are required to attempt Questions in Part II (Language – II) in any Language other than the Language chosen in the Part-I (Language – I).

6. Questions related to Par III Child Development and Pedagogy (Q. No. 61 to 90), Part Mathematics (Q. No. 91 to 120) and Part V: Environmental Science (Q. No. 121 to 150) are given both in Kannada and English medium in the Question Paper Booklet. The Questions answered must tally with the medium opted in the online application.

7. All the entries in the circle must be made with BLUE OR BLACK BALL POINT PEN ONLY. Any alteration in the answer counts as invalid. Usage of whitener/overwriting on OMR Answer Sheet is not permitted and such answer booklet is not considered for evaluation.

8. Each candidate is given carbonless O.M.R. sheet along with the original O.M.R. answer sheet. Candidate should return the ORIGINAL O.M.R. ANSWER SHEET TO THE ROOM SUPERVISOR and retain the carbonless copy of the same with the candidate.

9. Calculator, mobile phone and any other electronic devices are not allowed.
10. If a candidate is found committing malpractice, necessary action will be taken against such candidate as per the examination rules.
